COTSWORKS’ FORCE center is now employing multiple technicians to build optical subassemblies for research and development as well as validate performance from outsourced vendors. “FORCE features an AS9100, 2,000+ square foot facility and a state-of-the-art ISO 7, Class 10,000, cleanroom which houses precision optical alignment, encapsulation and test equipment dedicated for 1-28Gbps optical semiconductor design, prototyping and testing”, commented Tim Nevin, COTSWORKS VP of Operations. FORCE has been under construction for nearly five years and is now fully operational after delays due to the pandemic. Phase II of FORCE is being completed at the end of 2022 and will include single-mode assemblies, and DFB lasers.
FORCE’s research and development efforts continue to make COTSWORKS a leading manufacturer of optical networking, fiber, and copper interconnect assemblies within the Mil/Aero industry.
