This PCN is to notify customers of the switch to a new strain relief boot for all 1.8mm LC style connectors. This PCN encompasses the Senko branded plastic LC connector, the COTSWORKS LC-R Connector, and the COTSWORKS LC-T Connector. This PCN is being issued in response to an end-of-life notice from the vendor of the original strain relief boot with a provided replacement alternative.

PQN 2022-01 Imperial Threaded RJ Transceivers

Transceivers shipped to customers with imperial threaded housings may have varying thread depths within the mounting screw posts. An unknown number of transceivers has shipped with this varying thread depth condition since the issue was observed intermittently across one large Lot of vendor supplied components. NOTE: A maximum screw length is defined; however, shorter lengths will work at the customer's discretion.

COTSWORKS is issuing this EOL notice for the ruggedized SFP product line. This decision is based on the lack of availability of required components. The components can no longer be obtained and were EOL’d by the original manufacturer.

COTSWORKS is issuing this notice for the ruggedized SFP 2G and 4G products. This document is to serve as notice that the previously offered products are no longer available in their current state. COTSWORKS will be engineering new solutions to replace these products in the future. This decision is based on the EOL notice from the component manufacturer. COTSWORKS will make these products publicly available upon their release and will reach out to any customer directly who wish to receive expected roadmaps and status.

PCN 40063 COTSWORKS Digital Diagnostic Update

This PCN is to clarify all digital diagnostic values stored within COTSWORKS’ transceivers. COTSWORKS is providing this information publicly on our datasheets to comply with industry best practices and to clarify to our customers why certain values were selected. Additionally, COTSWORKS has reviewed and updated the check sum fields within digital diagnostics to align them more closely to the SFF-8472 specification’s definition of check sum fields. Any changed values are considered to be “vendor fields” by the SFF-8472 specification and do not affect the performance of the transceiver. The most recent revision of any transceivers’ datasheet will provide a detailed explanation of each field. These datasheets are available for review on COTSWORKS’ website. PCN 40060 Change transceiver dust caps from black vinyl to clear silicone

The RJ, SFF, and SFB families of transceivers will switch from the currently utilized black vinyl dustcaps to clear silicone dustcaps. There is no impact to the functionality of the transceivers and this change will improve the consistency of fit and ease of removal of the dustcaps. Shipping processes and current packaging are unaffected by this change.
