COTSWORKS, INC, a manufacturer of rugged optical elements including active and passive components, is pleased to announce that the RCP family of transceivers now supports lasers and receivers operating at a center wavelength of 1310nm. The transceivers support speeds of 6-10Gbps and protocols including IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR and Fiber Channel 1200-SM-LL-L, as well as other protocols supporting 64b/66b encoding. They are compatible with LR SFP+ transceiver modules and include serial ID and Digital Diagnostics that is compatible with SFF-8431 and 8432.
RCP-10G-LR features include:
-
- 4-channel optical device where each channel can be configured for Transmit or Receive
- Each transmit channel is available as 1310nm standard for multichannel 10G Ethernet applications or with an option to support 40GBASE-LR4 CWDM wavelengths at 1270, 1290, and 1330nm
- Receive channels can support incoming broadband wavelengths between 1260-1620nm
- Speeds to 10Gbps with a high-performance DFB laser and pin receiver
- Industrial Temperature operation of -40 to 85C
- 9 dB minimum link budget with Receiver Sensitivity of -14 dBm
- Digital Diagnostics for each of four channels
- Metal housing for reduced EMI issues
- Low power operation and improved thermal management via the RCP’s internal fiber optic tray
- Rugged ARINC801 receptacles supporting size 16 termini that is pull-proof, tight jacket, or semi-loose fiber construction
- Compatible with COTSWORKS’ LightlyTM product enabling push-pull operation (no tool needed)
- Options for 5/6 or 6/6 RoHS compliance
Application:
-
- Data backbones and ring networks in military and aerospace vehicles
- Truck to Communications systems including RF applications
- Highspeed video links in harsh environments
- Single mode cable operation or Multimode using OM3 or OM4 varieties
Complementary to this RCP, COTSWORKS also provides fiber optic cabling solutions and optical multiplexor products that enable 40Gbps operation on a single or dual fiber system.
